VISIT TO THE AMPHITHEATER
it is the oldest Roman amphitheater still in existence. The amphitheater once hosted as many as 20,000 people. The top is still intact. You will be able to sit back and go back in time.
THE TEMPLE OF APOLLO
The temple, one of the oldest places of worship, occupied a very strategic position, along the path that leads to the Porta Marina, which led to the heart of the city. Between the 3rd and 2nd centuries, the temple was renovated and took on the Neronian architectural style. During the glory days, gladiatorial games and theatrical performances were held here in honor of Apollo and his sister Diana.
DON'T MISS THE VILLA OF MYSTERIES
The Roman Villa of the Mysteries is a well-preserved Roman rural estate, known for its colorful frescoes and intricate mosaics. The most famous are those in Room 5, which are believed to depict the initiation of a bride into a Greco-Roman cult. Dating back to the 2nd century BC, its importance reached its peak during the Augustan age.
WALK IN THE GARDEN OF THE FUGGIAS
Located behind Pompeii, the Orto dei Fuggiaschi is an ancient vineyard. Today it is the resting place of thirteen victims who desperately tried to escape during the eruption. The plaster casts depict the dramatic events that occurred after the eruption, as people tried in vain to escape.
